Pedigree Puppy Food
If you just bought or adopt a new puppy, getting the
right pedigree puppy food might be confusing to you. But as a new owner to exotic breed, I am sure that you want
the best food for your puppy.
There are a lot of products to choose from today. Before buying any puppy food, you need to know the right diet for
your puppy. Just like a baby, your puppy needs care and food twice as much as adult dogs. There are no rules on
what to feed your puppy but it is best to buy food that is digestible.
Since that your puppy
is growing, there are a few reasons why you should feed your puppy specially formulated puppy foods
because:
* Your puppy needs 1.5
times more energy than an adult dog from the same breed.
* In order for your
puppy to grow and have strong muscles, he needs high level of protein.
* Your puppy is
vulnerable to any illness at this age, so he needs good immune system.
* He needs special
vitamins and minerals for strong bones and teeth.
By eight weeks old,
your puppy will have strong and sharp teeth. They are eager to eat and chew. So, that is the best time to
introduce pedigree puppy food to him. You will know when your puppy is ready to eat this food is when he doesn’t
choke on it.
When buying puppy food,
it is best to read the ingredients. If there are terms which confuse you, ask the business store assistant for
help. Choose a medium priced brand as they offer a complete and balanced diet for your puppy. Aside from reading
the ingredients, also read the amount that you should give to your puppy as the serving varies as your puppy
grows. Keep in mind that once you put your puppy on solid food, there is no turning back.
One way to make sure if
the food (especially if it involves beta puppy food) is suitable for your puppy is by looking at his stool.
Constipation might be a problem if you put your puppy on solid food too early. Your puppy’s stool should be the
mini version of the adult dogs’ stool. If your puppy passes out runny stool, it means that the food is not
suitable for his digestive system.
Also as a reminder,
your puppy will start teething in no time and will chew everything he can in your house. To avoid this, you can
get him the hard, tasty bone or a nylon bone for him to chew on. Make sure that it is big enough for him so that
he won’t choke on it.
Your puppy will grow to
become a dog one day. That is when you should change from pedigree puppy food to pedigree dog food.
